            Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Selsura, Dist. Wardha under  Dr. PDKV, Akola has adopted Dighi(Bopapur) villages as Model Village for doubling the farmers income and overall development of the villages within three years. Accordingly, PRA and baseline survey has been completed. Village is selected on the basis of population i.e. where population is below 1000 and the village is in remote area where advanced agricultural technologies have been not yet reached so far. The road map for model village includes<\/p>\n

  1. Doubling the productivity of crops in villages by transferring all recommended technologies to the farmers by University Scientist in support with line departments (33% increase in income).<\/li>\n
  2. Reducing the cost of cultivation by 50% through mechanization and other practices (increase in income by 33%) .<\/li>\n
  3. Through Value Addition by developing value chain from production to marketing (increase in income by 33%) .In addition, integrated farming system approaches has to be followed in the adopted villages by establishing a dairy units, goatary units, poultry units, sericulture, bee keeping units and   establishing processing units, farmers interest groups, self help groups, village library within stipulated time.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\nngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n
